Accredited Body Psychotherapist have been trained to standards maintained by:
The European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP)
The European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP)
and have the following benefits and obligations:
Benefits
Membership of IABP also includes membership of the EABP as an accredited Body Psychotherapist.
Members receive information and discounts for events and activities offered by IABP and EABP.
Members can attend and represent themselves and their interests at General Meetings and regional activities, and vote on IABP and EABP activity and policy.
Members can work on IABP and EABP committees.
Members can describe their status in advertising and referral material, including in online lists and pages, as:
‘IABP Accredited Body Psychotherapist’
and/or
‘EABP Accredited Body Psychotherapist’.
Obligations
Members commit to working to the IABP Ethical Guidelines.
Members commit to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) according to IABP and EABP requirements.
Members commit to obtaining relevant professional insurance covering their work with clients.

The Accreditation Committee meets 4 to 5 times each year, and aims to respond to applications within 14 days of meetings.
You will be sent an invoice for the annual membership fee when your application is approved, and on receipt of your payment your membership will be provisionally confirmed, subject to Garda Vetting clearance. On receipt of clearance a membership certificate will be sent to you.
